The Perfect Job Interview
Updated: Sep 2, 2019
Interview tips for your first job, because you know, the perfect interview requires preparation How do you set yourself apart?

1. Do your research!
That means before you walk into the practice you should understand the patient demographics, the philosophy of the doctor and have a general idea for the pace and type of dentistry being practiced. Remember that this interview is a two way street; they are looking for an associate that fits within the practice ideals, and you are also determining whether you fit well into this practice. . 2. Ask questions
Honestly - figure out if this is the right place for you. What are you looking for? Mentorship? Opportunities for professional growth? Are there particular procedures you are more inclined to? How do referrals work? Think about this clearly, about your own vision and then you can come up with a cohesive list.
3. Create an online portfolio of your work.
"This will most definitely set you apart. Make a compilation of your best works with a diverse range of treatment you have offered in order to depict you in the best light. Even before the working interview, this will give the hiring dentist an opportunity to determine what your skill set and competency is."
4. Clean up your online presence!
We live in a digital age. What that means is that you are highly “Google-able.” If you don’t want it out there for the public to see then take it down. .
5. Professionalism, Professionalism, Professionalism! Alright so you survived dental school interviews 4 years ago. Dress appropriately, Brush your teeth (duh), Deodorant, and just enough but not too much cologne and perfume. You don’t need to leave a trail of your scent. Business casual preferred! Keep your nails well. .
6. Resume and Business Cards.
For my resume I prefer high quality linen resume paper. Your business cards and email should be professional. Write a thoughtful cover letter based on your research.
